Ronaldinho Officially Joins Ravenna FC by Cipriani at Miami Celebration Marking the Club's International Debut
A night of football, art, and Italian culture at Cipriani Miami marks the beginning of a new chapter for one of Italy's historic clubs
On the evening of June 23, Cipriani Miami played host to a moment that brought together football royalty, culture, and Italian hospitality: the official announcement that Ronaldinho has signed with Ravenna FC by Cipriani, becoming one of the most significant signings in Italy’s recent soccer history.
The event drew 70 guests to an intimate VIP dinner before opening to 250 for an after-party, with Ronaldinho present throughout the evening. The night marked the U.S. debut of the Ravenna FC by Cipriani story and the formal launch of its international chapter, bringing the 1913-founded club, reimagined under the ownership of Ignazio Cipriani and investment partner Black Duck AI, to a global audience for the first time.
“Miami, what a night. The people, the energy, the joy in that room, this is exactly the spirit I want to bring to Ravenna. Football is about moments like these. I cannot wait for what comes next,” said Ronaldinho.
The evening also marked the debut of the club’s new campaign film, the first chapter in a broader storytelling series that will chronicle Ravenna FC by Cipriani’s next era and growing international ambitions. The evening further served as the official unveiling of the club’s new team kit, developed under the creative direction of Italian designer Giorgio Mallone. The jersey, which Ronaldinho will wear on the pitch next season, reflects the club’s positioning at the intersection of football heritage and contemporary Italian identity. Lagos-born, London-based artist Slawn further elevated the evening with ten one-of-one artworks that reimagined Ronaldinho’s Ravenna jersey as collectible pieces, created exclusively for the occasion.
“It was a truly special evening. Seeing Ronaldinho in that room, connecting through football with people the way only he can, it made everything we’ve been building feel very real. Ravenna has always been close to my heart, and last night reminded me why this project matters. We are just getting started,” said Ignazio Cipriani, president of Ravenna FC by Cipriani.
The evening also reflected the club’s commitment to community impact. A charitable donation was announced to Street Soccer USA, the national nonprofit that uses football to create opportunity for youth and underserved communities. “Cipriani have been family friends for many years and have always supported my charity endeavor with street soccer,” said Venanzio Ciampa, president of Street Soccer USA. Cipriani will additionally support the opening of Street Soccer USA’s new field in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood.

Ronaldinho Signs with Ravenna FC by Cipriani as a Decades-Long Vision Comes to Life
The historic Italian football club owned by Ignazio Cipriani will celebrate Ronaldinho's signing and the next chapter of Ravenna FC by Cipriani during a special event at Cipriani Miami on June 23
Some stories take decades to tell. For Ignazio Cipriani, who grew up in Ravenna, the historic city in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, the dream was always to build something that would bring his hometown to the world stage. On June 23, that vision arrives in Miami with an announcement that will resonate across football, fashion, and culture: Ronaldinho is joining Ravenna FC by Cipriani and will be officially registered as a player.
Ronaldinho, the FIFA World Cup champion, Ballon d’Or recipient, and one of the most recognizable figures in the history of the sport, joins a club that is entering an ambitious new era. Under the leadership of Ignazio Cipriani and investment partner Black Duck, Ravenna FC by Cipriani is building a project that extends beyond the pitch, positioning itself at the intersection of football, culture, creativity, and contemporary Italian identity.
The announcement will be made in person on June 23 at Cipriani Miami, where Ronaldinho
will be in attendance for a 70-person VIP dinner followed by a 250-person after-party. The evening marks the U.S. debut of the Ravenna FC by Cipriani story, and the beginning of its international chapter.
“New colors, same smile,” said Ronaldinho. “I cannot wait to dance with the ball and write a beautiful new story with Ignazio Cipriani and the Cipriani family. Football has always been joyful for me, and I’m excited to bring that spirit to Ravenna. Let the magic begin!”
Coinciding with the announcement, Ravenna FC by Cipriani will unveil its official team kit for the upcoming season. Developed under the artistic direction of Italian creative director Giorgio Mallone, the jersey reflects the club’s broader vision of honoring Ravenna’s heritage while introducing a contemporary identity capable of resonating on a global stage.
The shirt will serve as the club’s official kit, including the jersey that Ronaldinho will wear when he takes the field for
Ravenna FC by Cipriani next season. The club’s official merchandise collection is now available through the Ravenna FC by Cipriani website: r10.ravennafc.it
“After 24 years in the United States, Ravenna remains the place I consider home,” said Ignazio Cipriani, president of Ravenna FC by Cipriani. “My connection to my hometown and my passion for football made this a natural opportunity.
Bringing Ronaldinho to Ravenna FC by Cipriani is an extraordinary moment for the club. He was my idol growing up, and his impact on the game extends far beyond football. Beyond what he brings to the club, I hope his involvement inspires a new generation of supporters to fall in love with Ravenna FC and become part of what we’re building for the future.”
The story behind the club
Ignazio Cipriani has lived in the United States for more than two decades, where the Cipriani name became closely associated with Italian hospitality and lifestyle culture on a global scale. But Ravenna, the city where he was born, remained central to his identity.
In 2024, Cipriani, together with investment partner Black Duck, acquired Ravenna Football Club and assembled a new management team that includes Ariedo Braida, one of the most respected figures in Italian football, whose decades at AC Milan helped shape one of the sport’s most successful eras.
A four-year technical partnership with Nike followed, further signaling the club’s growing ambition and international direction.
Ronaldinho signs for Ravenna
Ronaldinho joins Ravenna FC by Cipriani as a player, one of the most significant signings in the club’s history and a moment that positions Ravenna at the center of the global football conversation. More than a symbolic appointment, Ronaldinho has set his sights on scoring his final professional goal in Ravenna colors, adding a deeply personal chapter to one of football’s most celebrated careers. His arrival is a signal: that what Ravenna is building is serious, that Italian football culture has a new address, and that the most compelling chapter of this club’s story is just beginning.
Charitable Component: Street Soccer USA
Football has long been a force for connection and opportunity. In that spirit, a charitable donation will be made to Street Soccer USA, the national nonprofit founded by Lawrence Cann that uses the game to create pathways for youth and underserved communities.
Street Soccer USA’s mission was part of the inspiration behind the initiative, reflecting a shared belief that football can create opportunity both on and off the pitch. A longtime supporter of the organization and friend of Miami President and National Board Member Venanzio Ciampa, Ignazio Cipriani will also help support the opening of Street Soccer USA’s new field in Overtown. For Ravenna FC by Cipriani, the partnership reflects a commitment to building meaningful connections within the local Miami community while using the game as a catalyst for
positive impact.
Slawn: Football, art & culture
Born in Lagos and based in London, Slawn is one of the most influential artists working at the intersection of football, fashion, youth culture, and contemporary art.
For the June 23 event, Slawn has reimagined Ronaldinho’s official Ravenna FC by Cipriani jersey through a series of ten one-of-one pieces created exclusively for the occasion. The works transform the jersey into a collectible art object, bringing together football, design, and contemporary culture in a way that reflects the broader ambitions of Ravenna FC by Cipriani.
The evening
The June 23 event at Cipriani Miami is designed to reflect the elements that define Ravenna FC by Cipriani: Italian hospitality, football culture, art, and the kind of room that only comes together when every element has been considered. The 70-person VIP dinner will be held at Cipriani Miami followed by a 250-person after-party.

Ravenna by Cipriani: the new Padel Raquet
Sport, performance and lifestyle meet at the Golden Goose Arena
Following the debut of the lifestyle collection — which marked the first time Cipriani entered the sportswear universe, reinterpreting football heritage through a sophisticated and international perspective — Ravenna by Cipriani now expands its vision into the world of padel with two exclusive rackets.
The project will be unveiled on May 28 at the Golden Goose Arena in Milan, continuing a journey that defines sport as a cultural language and a contemporary aesthetic expression, in dialogue with the Cipriani imagination and the sporting identity of Ravenna Football Club.
The two padel rackets are conceived as expressions of the same design and aesthetic code, interpreted through two complementary attitudes: one more essential and controlled, the other more intense and dynamic. Not merely technical instruments, but objects that interpret the sporting gesture as an expression of style and belonging.
The first model is built around an idea of balance and refinement. Its balanced construction delivers smooth and natural control of the game, while the tobacco-colored leather-effect grip introduces a tactile and sensory detail that recalls the warm and sophisticated aesthetic of the collection.
The second model expresses a more energetic and vertical tension, where structure and materials interact with a more performance-oriented dimension of movement, while maintaining precision and solidity on impact.
Both rackets are presented inside a special velvet-covered box, conceived not only as packaging but as a ritual object, completed with a coordinated racket holder. An element that enhances the experiential dimension of the project, transforming the product into a collectible piece.
The artistic direction of the project has been entrusted to Milan-based Creative Director Giorgio Mallone.

Ravenna FC and Terme di Riolo: the medical-sports protocol for the youth sector is born
"Good Breath": Medical-Sports Collaboration Protocol launched between Terme di Riolo and Ravenna Football Club 1913
A project that began a long time ago, thanks to an extraordinary meeting of excellence that allowed the creation of a medical-sports discipline-in the spa field-for cutting-edge athletic training in the heart of the Romagna Apennines. The club’s corporate vision has brought the club back into elite professional football through structural investments, a strong brand identity, and deep territorial cohesion. In this new context, the club’s youth sector is considered the basis of the project, with the aim of making Ravenna FC the point of reference for young footballers in the province and has found a valuable partner in the Terme di Riolo.
The two medical teams have jointly signed a health protocol to support sports training, which includes: inhalation treatment cycles, entry into the thermal pool, a vascular pathway, and the option of strength and explosive sessions inside the Riolo Thermal Baths’ equipped weight room and upon completion; and pampering and relaxation at the Grand Hotel delle Terme. This collaboration, among the first in Italy, was born to unite the sporting tradition and vision of the Ravenna FC club with the medical-scientific excellence of the Terme di Riolo, the hospitality of the Grand Hotel delle Terme**** and the reality of the Riolo Terme sports center, located just 500 meters from the Termale factory.
Dr. Andrea Carboni, Head of the Ravenna FC Medical Area:
“This protocol was born with the aim of integrating athletic training with medical support aimed at prevention and recovery. In young soccer players, respiratory protection, workload control, and post-training recovery are essential aspects to reduce the risk of functional problems and promote healthy sports growth. Inhalation care, the use of the thermal pool and recovery paths represent useful tools within a structured program, always respecting the medical indications and individual needs of the athlete.”
The project’s health pillar is programs that take advantage of the chemical and physical properties of thermal waters, particularly the Breta, sulfurea, and Salsoiodica, salsobromoiodica sources, which represent a strategic resource for the health of young athletes.
Dott.ssa Mara Angela Mascherpa, Dir. Sanitaria Terme di Riolo:
“We are happy to make our facility, our specialists and above all our thermal waters available to Ravenna Football Club 1913, a true natural and versatile therapeutic facility. The characteristics of our springs allow us to act on the nose, throat and bronchi, strengthening the immune system, helping to prevent infections and improving breathing while baths in the thermal pool promote rapid recovery from muscle fatigue, relaxing and toning, thanks to the anti-inflammatory, draining and decontracting actions of the Salsoiodic spring”
From the end of July, training courses ranging from under 15 to spring training will be hosted and during the mini-retreats, personalized programs will be developed, consisting of inhalation treatments to improve lung capacity and prevent airway diseases, ensuring better oxygenation during competitive effort and functional recovery thanks to the use of the 34°C salt-iodine thermal pool for post-training session therapy sessions. The use of the same allows to reduce joint load, promoting the drainage of lactic acid and accelerating recovery times after prolonged efforts but also blunt or distorting trauma. At the end of the sessions, walks through the greenery of the immense Thermal Park will be included in the program. This physical activity offers unique benefits for young athletes, combining athletic training with the therapeutic properties of the environment. The centuries-old 13-hectare park offers oxygen-rich, pollutant-poor air, improving respiratory efficiency and lung capacity. Training in a pleasant place and in contact with nature promotes the overall well-being of the body and the mental focus of athletes.
The proximity between the thermal facilities and the municipal sports field closes the frame, allowing a fluid logistics, model “American Campus”.
Massimiliano De Gregorio, Head of the Ravenna FC Youth Sector:
“This initiative goes along with our philosophy of following the young athlete at 360°. From physical well-being thanks to the path structured by doctors, to physical and athletic training activities in anticipation of the start of the sports season, then moving on to the technical and tactical foundations for the formation of the teams that will compete in the national championships, up to the mental experience of experiencing a retreat like a first team.”
The goals of the collaboration, in addition to increasing sports performance and reducing injuries, are part of a context of human growth for young people, educating them in a culture of total well-being; both of body and mind. Another goal shared by the two companies concerns the desire to enhance local marketing, strengthening the link between our province’s excellence and promoting Riolo Terme as a top-tier destination for athletes.

He fails to achieve the feat but Benelli deserves applause
Ravenna's playoff adventure ended to applause. A sold-out Benelli team that supported the team for 90 minutes and the Curva Mero after a fantastic choreography gave just the right amount of applause to a season that made the Ravenna team dream. The front-wheel drive Giallorossi held Salernitana in check but were unable to find the spark that could call the match into question. Bianconi's double yellow and the final red in Esposito make the defeat even more bitter.
