A draw in Lavagna secures qualification: Ravenna FC will compete in the Serie D Italian Cup

A solid and determined Ravenna secures its first-ever Serie D Italian Cup final. Building on the 2-0 advantage from the first leg, Marco Marchionni’s side controlled the return match at Lavagna’s Reboli Stadium with confidence, finishing 1-1 and confirming their place in the competition’s decisive showdown.

The match heats up immediately, with Ravenna threatening in the 1st minute as Crosariol delivers a dangerous cross that is cleared by the Biancoverdi defense. In the 4th minute, Lo Bosco finds the net, but the goal is ruled out for a foul in attack by Manuzzi. Ravenna keeps pressing, and in the 11th minute they appeal for a penalty after Manuzzi is pulled in the box, but the referee lets play continue. After half an hour of Giallorossi dominance, Lavagnese begins to show signs of life with a header from Berardi, well saved by Galassi, and a shot from Lombardi that narrowly goes wide.

Ravenna takes the lead right at the end of the first half: Lordkipanidze steals the ball and finds Manuzzi, who unleashes a long-range shot. The attempt is tricky, and Gragnoli fails to deal with it cleanly, allowing the ball to slip into the net for a 1-0 advantage for the Giallorossi.

In the second half, Lavagnese comes out with renewed determination and at the 54th minute they find the equalizer: Mutton times a run on the edge of offside and chips the ball over Galassi with a delicate lob. The Ligurians continue to press and at the 55th minute nearly take the lead with a header from Balan, but the Giallorossi goalkeeper reacts quickly to keep the score level. Ravenna responds at the 58th minute with Lo Bosco, whose shot tests Gragnoli, and again at the 78th minute with substitute Biagi, who comes close to scoring.

In the final moments, Lavagnese presses for a late attack, but it is Ravenna who has the biggest chance: Zagre fires a dangerous diagonal shot that is deflected to a corner by the home defense. At the final whistle, the seventy Giallorossi fans in Liguria can celebrate: Ravenna FC has made history and is now set to compete in the Serie D Coppa Italia final.
