Forlì – Ravenna FC: The Derby That Could Decide the Championship

A high-stakes clash between the top two teams: the Morgagni will be sold out.

The Serie D championship enters its most intense phase with the big match everyone has been waiting for: Forlì and Ravenna FC face off in a game that could prove decisive for the promotion race. With seven matchdays still to go, the standings see Forlì at the top, two points ahead of the Giallorossi, who are coming off their triumph in the Coppa Italia.
Miramari’s team arrives at this clash after an extraordinary run: since the defeat in the first-leg derby, Ravenna has collected only victories, with the sole exception of a slip against Zenith Prato. In the last round, the Giallorossi came close to a shock defeat against the Tuscan side at the Benelli, but managed to turn the result around thanks to Guida’s decisive strike in the final minutes. Forlì, on the other hand, has strung together an impressive series of seven consecutive wins without conceding a goal, confirming themselves as a solid and clinical team.
Another factor to consider is the differing build-up to the match: the home side, due to the break for the Viareggio Tournament, have not played in 15 days, while Ravenna arrives with morale sky-high after winning the Coppa Italia in Teramo ten days ago.
The Morgagni will be packed for the occasion: a full house is expected. The visual impact will be especially impressive in the away section, as the 870 tickets available to Giallorossi fans were sold out in just 40 minutes, and demand would have been much higher if capacity had allowed.
Regarding the squads, Ravenna can finally count on their entire roster. Marchionni has the full group back, although it’s easy to predict that Ilari and Mereghetti may still have limited stamina after their recent injuries. An additional resource for a team preparing for the most important match of the season.
Expectations are sky-high: Forlì-Ravenna FC is not just a derby, it is a match that could make history in the championship.

Incredible Ravenna: Epic Comeback and Sole Leaders

A heart-stopping victory: the Giallorossi overturn Zenith Prato and secure three extremely valuable points.

Ravenna FC gave the Benelli crowd a night of pure excitement, overturning a desperate situation to claim a 3–2 victory over Zenith Prato. A win that, at least for one night, sends the Giallorossi to the top of the table alone while waiting for Forlì’s response. An extraordinary comeback, crowned by a stunning goal from Guida in the 96th minute, which sent the Giallorossi fans into raptures and reignited enthusiasm ahead of the Coppa Italia final.

The start of the match is a nightmare for Ravenna, who fall behind after just 5 minutes: a run by Falteri puts the defense under pressure, with Nistri taking advantage of a short clearance to score the visitors’ opener. The Giallorossi try to react with Guida, whose header forces Brunelli into a save, and then with a dangerous cross that almost catches the goalkeeper off guard. Around the half-hour mark, Zagre breaks down the wing but is blocked at the last moment. In the 33rd minute, Fresia makes a crucial intervention, preventing a defensive mistake by stopping Falteri. However, in the 41st minute, a misunderstanding between Biagi and Mauthe leaves the goal wide open for Falteri, who dribbles past the goalkeeper and scores the visitors’ second.

In the second half, coach Marchionni reshuffles the cards by bringing on D’Orsi and Calandrini, and Ravenna shifts into a higher gear. The first signs come from Guida, whose shot is cleared off the line, and from a header by Venturini. In the 53rd minute, Di Renzo pulls one back with a superb header from a cross by D’Orsi, and in the 60th minute the same striker levels the score with a precise right-footed finish from an assist by Rrapaj. Ravenna do not settle for the draw and keep pushing in search of the winning goal. When the match seems decided, in the 96th minute Guida produces a moment of magic with a curling shot that nestles into the far post, sending the stadium into raptures.

A crucial victory that reignites the Giallorossi’s ambitions and fires up the fans ahead of the next decisive match.

Ravenna FC – Zenith Prato: A Crucial Clash at the Benelli

Ravenna FC prepares for the match against Zenith Prato to keep the pressure on their rivals.

Ravenna FC is focusing on their next league match, the clash against Zenith Prato, with the aim of continuing to fight for the top of the standings. Despite the Coppa Italia final against Guidonia scheduled for Wednesday in Teramo, coach Marco Marchionni and his players are ready to take the field with full determination, seeking to earn three crucial points in the last league game before the break.
The match has been moved up to Saturday to allow proper preparation ahead of the final. A victory could temporarily place Ravenna in first position, keeping pressure on Forlì high. However, the opponents should not be underestimated. Zenith Prato comes into the game with two consecutive wins, including an important away victory against Forlì, and is a real wild card, especially on the road. Simone Settesoldi’s team is in good form and will do everything possible to secure vital points in the fight for survival, following a forfeit loss to Cittadella Vis Modena due to Tempestini’s registration issue and the threat of further penalties.
For Ravenna, Saturday’s match represents the last fixture before the break and the direct clash with Forlì. There is no room for letting their guard down: the Giallorossi must give their all to avoid losing ground at the top. For this game, Marchionni will have to do without Milan, who is suspended, while injured players Mereghetti, Ilari, and Drapelli continue to train separately. Despite the absences, Ravenna will take the field with a strong desire to win, supported by their passionate fans who will ensure full backing.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the club has organized a special initiative for all female supporters: entry to the stadium will be just 1 euro for all women, providing an extra reason to enjoy the excitement of the match at the Benelli.
The appointment is set for Saturday, March 8, at 5:30 PM, when Ravenna FC will aim to continue their push toward the top of the table.
